Botanical Embroidery Workshop - Sun 4 Sept, 2-3:30pm

Join artist and embroidery teacher Aaron Billings for a 90 minute Embroidery Workshop and be part of an artwork in the making! Focused on teaching you techniques and embroidery stitches ideal for plants and flowers, you will learn basic embroidery stitches, as well as specialised techniques to create lovely botanical designs. Embroidery samplers created in this workshop can be incorporated into Aaron’s next large-scale quilt.

ARTIST BIO:
Aaron Billings (he/him) makes work featuring the male form, particularly the feminised male form. Aaron focuses on versions of masculinities that mess with gender representation, alternatives to capitalism, and resisting homogenisation. His work through the medium of zines, comics, books, and textiles ties into queer art through history, exploring queer political power and agency, and resistance to heteronormative ways of seeing.
